Honesty
Lupin reached up to twitch closed the curtains, but Lord Grefham forestalled her, sweeping them swiftly shut and easily lighting the oil lanterns. IN the oranging light, he finally looked straight at her - long, his eyes alight - and LUpin saw his face in the light closely for the first time.
His greay ayes seemed dark an dintensely lit in the shadows, but his face was gaunter than she knew it to normally appear, his hair, even beneath the powder, seemed touched more gray. Lupin ached within at what she had brought to him. Her eyes lowered, shudderingly, but she forced them back up to his. He looked at her for a long moment, now words. And she held his gaze, quietly.
"You left me," he remarked, almost casually, sitting back into the squabs. He looked slightly over her shoulder, an odd expression marking his face. She straightened herself, and leaned slightly forwards, as if to comfort him, but held herself back.
"I - I kept you safe." She replied, faltering a little, but finishing gravely.
"Do not do it again." It was a command, but not a threat - at least not one to her. He said it bleakly.
Lupin looked at him, bit her lip, but quickly disentangled it from her teeth. She knit her brow, and lowered her chin, shaking her head.
"No. Not again."
His jaw was hard, she noted. But there was something very pale about his mouth.
"No."
"Grefham," she said, and his eyes moved towards her, dark and watchful. She held his gaze.
"I wish I had not left. I wish I had never left you..." She took a deep breath, but kept up her chin. "Please hold me. I have longed for you - so." It was said quietly, and almost flatly, but it was very, very honest.
In one moment, she was pulled across him, entirely encircled in his embrace. "I will hold you. Do not ask me to release you," he said deeply. She shook her head and looked up at him, her eyes dark. They cleared slightly, as she gazed at him earnestly. "I am yours."
